Fever.. Fever.. Fever! (and National Day!)

Yup, had a high fever last week... about 39.0 degree celsius! But before I write about that, last talk about what I did the previous weeks...

I have been watching quite a few movies lately. First, it was Sorcerer's Apprentice . It was quite a good show, but the ending was typical. And the fighting reminds me of Dragon Ball, hmm... anyone feels the same? I watched Inception too. Very interesting, but very complicated. I think most of the brain cells were dead after watching the movie, and the ending made all the cells come alive just to get shock down again... Very, very complicated movie... I guess it wasn't really suitable for my puny brain. Hey, I have a small head... what can I do? XD

Moving on, I went to JB with my friends, Vic, KT and Daph. So we agreed to meet very early on that day, and we only confirmed the JB trip one day before, thanks to KT ;P

So all of us promised to meet at 10am on that day, but, because of the 'rain' (LOL... thank god for the rain XD), we pushed our meeting time to 11am instead. So all of us were rushing, cos we were afraid that the so-and-so will be too on time and unleash her fury upon us later if she waited for too long and nothing there could entertain her at that time.

Fortunately, I was the first one there. And I, being the all-so-mild-mannered guy that I am ;-p I helped them to queue up before they came. So after a while, we all boarded the bus, and have seats, cos we were the first. Yay!

Passing the custom was a pain in the a** cos everyone is rushing - like rushing to get reborn to a good family -________-
being the Singaporean that I am, I cant be losing to them right... LOL

In which case, we did lost to them and had to stand all the way to JB customs. The traffic was a mess there and we stand for quite some time. Stupid road! So again, we went for the custom, but this time, the Malaysian one. So after everything was done, we went to City Square! The only shopping center that is near the custom and near Singapore but still uses Ringgit to buy stuff!

We walked around the shopping mall for a bit, not knowing where to go, and what to do. But eventually, we thought of watching a movie there, since we have time, and there wasn't much activities we could do there.
So in the end, we watched SALT. Yet another good but typical show... Oh, but took the Friends Package that they offered there and it was really cheap! One ticket, one popcorn and one drink per pax. So it was quite worth it, not to mention that it is really very cheap to watch a movie in Malaysia! Throughout the whole movie, I felt like I was going to freeze to death. Cos the temperature was so low, and the cinema had a 'zoo' smell. The smell where u find in the Zoo. Yucks!
Remember the most important part - I ate a whole box of popcorn and drank a whole cup of 7-UP. It comes important a short while later...

For now, let's talk about after the show. After the show, of course we were quite helpless, because we do not know where to go and what to do again... lolx But, our tummy were growling a bit, so we walked around the mall, while thinking about what to eat for dinner. We had wanted to eat outside the mall, where there was a night market. But it was drizzling and we were afraid that it might get huge, so we decided to stay in the mall for our dinner. In the end, we chose a Japanese restaurant at the basement of the mall. I have forgotten the name of it... lolx
The food was good, I had the meal where there are booth rice and ramen.

After that sumptuous dinner, KT decided to buy some beard papa home! LOLx... she kept pronouncing it wrongly... haha =X But we waited for quite a long time. Just to find out its sold out! But, they are making new ones and she could make an order first, and then go somewhere else to shop around before coming back to collect the thingy.  The cashier was actually quite friendly and nice... haha I think its the only store in Malaysia... lolx

By the time we back to Malaysia customs to go back to Singapore customs to go back to Singapore, it was already night time. And the custom was jam packed with people! Boy did i regret not going back earlier, so as to beat the crowd... argh! I had to wait for quite a long while, and there wasn't any seats, the road was so packed with cars that it wasn't moving at all. I felt miserable while standing and waiting, who would have thought that I was actually starting to get sick at that time.

Yes... when i went home, and I had a short nap, while letting my sister uses my computer, I felt very cold, chilly and shivering. I was actually having a fever! A very HIGH FEVER!!! So I reported sick on Monday, and went to see my family doctor. And as usual, the clinic was packed with sick people. I had to register, but the guy in front of me was so slow that I was getting impatient. He wrote his name in such neat and slow handwriting, that I felt like grabbing the book, and asked him to let me write first. He was damn slow...

I dozed off and on for about one hour plus, while waiting for my turn. I knew that if that guy in front of me had not leave, that means my turn is not up yet. Oh his wife was SO TALKATIVE!!! In between my sleeping and waking up, I can hear her talking, NON-STOP! I dont know where did she get all the saliva and energy to talk so much!?!? And to think that she was seeing the doctor with her husband?!?! So finally their turn came, I woke up, and eagerly sat in front of the door, awaiting for my turn. I waited and waited for almost 15mins, and those two still did not come out! I was so pissed?!?! I was thinking, my fever from 39 can go up to 40 while waiting for them. And the nurse might as well call a ambulance and drive me to the hospital! They were DAMN SLOW!!! So finally the wife came out, with a small bottle, and went to the toilet. So the nurse asked me to go in, I was thinking, hmm... I didnt see her husband come out, so how can I go in. But i cant wait any longer, so i just knocked the door, and opened it. And there it was, the stupid husband seating beside the doctor, while the doctor signaled me to wait outside -_____-
STUPID NURSE AND STUPID COUPLE?!?!? My degree is really going up!
And when I finally got the chance to see the doctor, do you know what he said to me?!?!? He said why did i waited so long to come see him, cos my fever's quite high and its dangerous for me! ... I was speechless!!! Do you think I wanna wait so long to come see you! Its just that there are 10 more people in front of me, including the couple who you had to take a sample of their pee! But me, being the mild mannered boy that I am, I just smiled and said the queue was long >_< I did not have the strength and energy to argue with him. But he did give me 2 days of MC, which in turn became 4 days! LOLx... XD

I'm all better now, and today is National Day! Yay!

Hell load of BS

I dont know why but tonight was the night that i suddenly want to write something...

Its been a long time since i wrote something, blogging wasn't as popular as it use to be, and tweeting is starting to slide too...

I'm still working in that small little firm. Its cool, my colleagues are nice, and the work and environment isn't that bad either. I'll probably stick around until... may be when I graduate from my course. I'm going to start studying soon, I'm getting a degree in management. Its a very general course, hence the 'Jack of All Trades, Master of None' keeps popping up in my head. I know its too general, but I really don't know what I am going to do when I graduate. I have no goals, no dreams, no jobs that I fancy... I don't really know what I like, everyone always ask what do you like to do, but I have NO IDEA what i want to do. Is it really that bad? Not to have dreams? No Goals? No Future? I just live my life one day at a time...

For these past couple of months, I have been trying to find out what I want to do, and who I am. Some of you will know what I mean. Trying to figure out what I want to do, for a job, and in my life. What I truly am, in my life. I have no idea too. I have no one to guide me, no one to teach me, and no one to talk to. Of course, I'm not that pessimistic. At least not yet anyway.

So I said that I have been working, waiting for my course to start. Am a little nervous, don't really know if I can cope with it. And don't really know if I can make any friends there.

Oh did I mention that I just celebrated my birthday not long ago? No I really did celebrate my birthday. My secondary school friends, who I have known for almost ten years, some of them couldn't make it. And for those who came, no one bother to bring a camera along, or sing a birthday song for me. Its not that I don't appreciate them, its just that I'm a little sad that not all my friends can make it, and I have to bring my own camera to take pictures. And even the pictures are very few. Did anyone notice that NO ONE commented on the pictures I took for my birthday? Only one of my colleagues did, the rest just couldn't bother or think that it's not worth commenting. Even my one of my friends who is currently studying overseas, care more about his blunder and rejections, than saying happy birthday to me. He wants me to listen to his incident and didn't even bother to ask if I'm interested or not. Or at least he could wish me first, before blabbering away on the window screen. I'm mostly ALWAYS present in all of their birthday celebrations, and make an effort to buy them presents, but me?

But i do appreciate the present that they bought me, and will still bring my camera to their birthday celebrations. I will still make an effort to celebrate all of their birthdays, and make them happy, as long as I'm still alive, and they are still my friends.

I know some of you who read this will ask me to grow up, get a life, stop whining, but hey, this is my blog, I get to write what I want to say and if you are not happy, create your own blog and flame me, I don't care ;p

Anyway, what's the most impt thing is I did not miss the last bus...lol

Looks like I cant collect much hong baos this year because my friends and I could not organize a proper house visiting. Well, we have all started to work... busy! busy!

Haha, till next time!

Interesting Incidents

Yesterday, saw something interesting happened and I just had to blog it...

Was catching the train to work yesterday morning to go to work. As usual, it was packed with a lot of sardines(people). Then came a guy, whose obviously wearing an office wear and going to work too. He was listening to music. But it was not the usual iPhone, iPod, or any other form of MP3 or smartphones that you see nowadays where ever you are. On his hand, he was holding this:

He was actually holding a Discman! LOL
It looks like the picture above, but a bit bigger! Wow, can you believe it? There is actually someone out there who is still using this form of music player?! When I saw him using it, I was really shock. And to add to the shocking factor, he was actually an Ang Moh (Caucasian)!!! Haha, quite big size and spot a shaved head. Really man! It sure brings a nostalgic feeling when I think of him and his discman. I used to have one too, during my lower secondary school days. I still have it stashed inside my drawers... haha, think it is still working!

Another interesting thing is I found an article from Gawker that I really like it! The link is here
It's about how straight guys can be friends with gay guys and do not have to be afraid that all the gay guys wants to eat you up, or only thinking about having sex with straight guys like you. Haha i found it really interesting and the things they wrote are quite true...
You should go and read it!!!

Ok, I'm signing out and going to work soon... Eating lunch with my boss today =X
Bye!

Goodbye... Dollhouse

Yes, just when I'm starting to catch season 2, Dollhouse was canceled. I did not catch season 1 because at that time, I did not know what kind of show was that, and I was skeptical. All I know was that the lead actress (Eliza Dushku) was from Dark Angel, and I never watch that show too. But, putting my skepticism aside, I decided to give season 2's episode 1 a try, and boy was i hook! I really like the story about actives, how these people was 'imprinted' with different personalities and how the big corporation has a sinister evil plan, right down to the actors and actress playing them.

The last episode was really a continuation of the last episode of season 1. How the little girl was actually an active, how she manages to bluff the rest of the survivals, and killed them, and how the dad was just a decoy. But luckily, one of the last remaining survival was smart enough to notice that the girl had told them her dad's name wrongly, as her dad's name was already carved onto him, before he became an active. Pardon me if I'm always writing this girl, that guy, because I'm really bad at remembering names.

Anyway, I was really shock that Joss Whedon had killed off Ballard so... how should I say, easily? Its just a headshot by the enemy when he was trying to calm a girl down... Poor Ballard, I was hoping he and Echo can be together. Oh a small trivia, there's a song called 'Echo' by a girl group called, 'Girl Cant Catch', cheesy but kind of catchy too... lol.

So in the end, Ballard just died on the streets, leaving Echo to vent her anger at Sierra. But I must admit, I really like the actors and actress playing Sierra and Victor. I especially like when Victor was imprinted with Topher's memory, because the way he behave and the way he talks, really 100% looks like the real Topher! Not to mention that his voice really sounds like him. And then there's the real Topher, who is really a genius, who was actually the mastermind and brain behind all these magnificent gadgets and technology advancement. It will be very scary if there is really someone like Topher out in our world. Oh wait, I think we do have...

The way Topher speaks is really cute. And how he is always scared and admired Adelle.
Adelle, who appears to be an ice queen, very cold and impartial, was actually the mother hen in the end, who took care of Topher when he's gone a bit psycho, and help the rest of the actives to escape. And the shocking truth that Boyd was actually one of the founders of Rossum Corp. Who would have known... And the last part where we saw him holding a grenade and smile faintly at Echo was really sad! Almost make me forget all the bad things that he have done. Was kinda creepy when he told Echo that he likes her, and for Echo to tell him that he loves him, WEIRD. I wonder what happen to the Asian assistant of Topher's...

Oh, and there was the first active, Alpha, who became really funny and cute in the last episode. The actor playing Alpha is really a good actor, too bad no one really notice him. I remember seeing him in another tv show, 'V', and he was killed off after only 3 or 4 episodes... sad.

Well, I guess all I can do is to watch re-runs, or wait for another show that can be just as good as it, stay tuned...

Confessions of a Shopaholic Part 2

Remember part 1? That was only Saturday. I still have not write about Sunday, lol... so here i go!

Before Sunday, I messaged a lot of my friends and asked if they were willing to accompany me for shopping. As always, many of them will reject me without giving a second thought. Finally, one of my poly friend, BW, was very okay with shopping and was willing to shop with me! Yeah! Off i go, to continue my shopping spree!

So, around noon, i met BW at the bus interchange near my house and we boarded a bus, which will take us to Orchard. Taking a bus meant that we will have seats to sit, and can chat along the ride. Usually it will be BW talking, and I'll be listening... LOL
So finally we reached our first stop, Tangs. From there, I bought my first item for the day, a Fossil watch. It cost me about 200 bucks! OMG!?!?!?! @$*&@^($

Haha, never in my life have I bought myself such an expensive watch. But I sick and tired of cheap watch that breaks down after last then a month. So, I decided to buy myself a good and stylish watch. I wanted an Adidas watch, but my wrist skin is sensitive to rubbery plastic material. So I decided to buy a black metal material Fossil watch, so that I can wear for both work and casual occasions. You see, its my only first stop and I have already blown away 200 bucks! So what's more to come?

Next stop, we went to ION Orchard, where I bought some food and drinks because I was hungry, or may be because of the knowledge that I've just burnt a gigantic hole in my wallet. If I remember correctly, I did not buy anything from ION, just the food and drink. So off we go to the third stop, Takashimaya Shopping Centre. Nope, never buy anything there too... Alright let's just fast forward to where I bought something. Oh ya, I bought a brown leather shoe from Pedro. Its also for use in both formal and casual occasions. I think its just me, but I really like something that I can wear for both occasions, so that I do not have to buy too many things. I forgot where I bought that shoes from, think its from ION Orchard, I think. Anyway, after buying those two items, or should I say accessories, I did not buy anything else, just have my dinner and dejectedly went home. Exhausted and Guilt-Stricken.

You would have thought that after buying so many clothes, shirts, pants, watch and shoes, I should be stopping already right? Guess what? I went to Part 3!!! L~O~L

Yes! I really went for another shopping with my good friend, QW, as he still needs to buy his clothes, so I tag along, promising myself that I will only accompany him, and do 'Window Shopping'. But after going to 313@somerset, I'm thinking of getting myself a high top sneakers. I just saw one really chic looking pair at 'Pull and Bear', but it cost $129! So I forced myself not to spend anymore. But I really like it a lot.... Haha... Or I should probably listen to what my friend QW said, "There's always next (CNY) year." LOL

So do you guys think I should buy? Does it match with skinny jeans? It's black in colour, so it does not appear to be too sporty. Can I match it with pants? Do you think Pull and bear shoes are good? Can I wear it with a berms? I have so many questions, yet no one to answer... 'sigh'

Anyway, there's all I have to write....

My first real ex-job...

I had a fun time meeting up with my ex-colleagues from the place I used work in, Kumon. Although I tried to ask a lot of people to go, in the end, only three of us were there... lol

My colleagues look all the same, even after 2 full years of not seeing them, or at least one of them I haven seen her for a long time, the longest auntie I have known, who still works in Kumon.

We went to Sembawang Shopping Centre, the place where we first met. That was the place where the Kumon I work in first started, and its the place where we had all our fun and laughter. But a few years back, they wanted to renovate the place, so we had to move to another location, which was nearer to the MRT station, but still we missed the old place.

After renovating for a few years, the shopping centre has finally reopened. So we went there to have a look, to see what has changed, and what remains the same. We also had our lunch there. During lunch, we talked about everything. Keep up to date about what each of us are doing now, how is my ex-boss and her company doing, how the kids in Kumon are doing, and how my other ex-colleagues are doing.

From my colleague, found out that my ex-boss is doing great! Had a LOT more students, which explains the fat bonus that my ex-colleague got.... LOL

But too much students, and too little teachers, poor ex-colleague don't even have the time to time for dinner. Can you imagine having bread for breakfast, and dinner? Omg, if I were her, I'll sure go out and eat, but then again, she's not me, and she cant possibly go and eat, while leaving the kids inside the centre on their own... Oh well...

I really wanted to go back and work there, but I know I cant... Its too far and the poor isn't enough to cover my expenses. So I guess I'll have to pass.... Who knows, I may go back and work some day. But till then, I just stick to this job first...

Confessions of a Shopaholic

After watching confessions of a shopaholic a few months back, I must say I do empathize with the actress's impulsive behavior to shop. I was very unfortunate to have this kinda experience a few days ago as I was shopping new clothes for Chinese New Year. In case you are not a Chinese, usually around Chinese New Year, we will buy new clothes to wear on that day, thus this traditions carried on till now.

Last Saturday, I went to Singapore Institute of Management(SIM) to register myself to two of the courses there. Hopefully, I will get selected for both of them, so that I can choose from the both of them later. But if I'm accepted to both, I think I will have a dilemma. *sigh*

Anyway, after I registered, I went to Bugis with my friend, to shop. First stop, we went to Illuma, which is just opposite Bugis Junction, as my friend wants to go there and buy herself a cell phone casing for her HTC Hero. I don't understand why she bothers to buy a casing only after using it for a few months, in which the shell of her cell phone is already full of scratches, and she dropped her phone a couple of times! But being a good friend, I did not voice out what I was thinking at that time, oh well, better late then never, or so they say...

Oh and we came across a sales event in the middle of the mall, whereby there were some graphic tees that were sold for ten bucks each! I saw that price, could not resist, and went and bought two tees! That, was the first of my many purchases, or rather, the start of my horrific but satisfying shopping spree.

Next, we went to Bugis Market, which was kinda like a night market, except that its operating in the day. I'm telling you, the place was jam packed with a lot of people, its like a can full of chopsticks, without any room to walk. I just don't understand how people(girls) can shop in this kinda situation, to which my friend shot me a 'duh' look, and told me shopping is like this... LOL
We saw many nice tees and pants but I was hesitating in buying them because I knew that the quality of the material of the pants and tees here are not that good, I knew because I've bought them before, and they tore easily. Nevertheless, my friend still managed to get the extremely short shorts that she was looking for, and myself, another tee which has really nice material and color... lol, who am I to kid, and here I go again, another purchase.

After that, we walk all the way from Bugis, to Orchard Road, because I have some things that I want to have a look there. Went to Somerset@313, got myself another short pants and a hooded shirt. I dunno why, but I really really like hooded clothes! Haha, I dun understand why, but I like the way those hoods dangling behind my neck, makes me look really cool and street smart. Too bad I cant pull the hood over my head in S'pore, because, seriously, I dun think anyone will do that in S'pore anyway. But still, I like hooded clothes and I'm sure I'll continue to buy more of them, haha, because someday, I know that I will get to use it! Last stop was at Uniqlo, where i bought myself three pants and some under clothes. I'm so stupid to go and alter my pants without first trying it on, ask them to measure, then alter according to the measurement. Nooo, I have to be all smart alex, ask them to alter it for me, by just giving them the length that I want. In the end, it was shorter than what I would like, but still, its wearable. Just that it might make me look like a hobbit, have you seen the pants of the hobbits in Lord of The Ring? You get what I mean...

So after all these shopping/ guilty pleasures/ burning a gigantic hole in my wallet/ whateva you wanna call it, my friend and I went to this mini fast food restaurant to have our dinner cum supper. It was very late, we were very hungry, and the restaurant was almost closing. There is one thing that I would like to complain, and that is the service standard of Frolick in Cathy Cineleisure. The attitude of the counter crew lady was really bad, she was very very rude to my friend and I. As I was given a card from Topman to have a free yogurt ice cream from them, I decide to get it there. My friend did not have the card, but still she purchased one. After she purchase hers, I asked the lady if I can have my free ice cream, the counter crew said, "can you wait?" in a very rude tone, and asked my friend, "are you paying for this?", pointing to the cup of ice cream which my friend had ordered. What kinda attitude was that, right? I mean if you want me to wait, I can wait, but I don't think you have to give me this kinda attitude right? And my friend ordered hers without showing the card, so obviously she's paying right? I'm so offended by her attitude, I'm not gonna buy ice cream from Frolick ever again, or at least not in Cathy Cineleisure, or if the B*IT*H is there.

And another very annoying person, is my sister. But I think I've already given up on her attitude and habit, so I'm not gonna write the incident here. Who knows, maybe next time...

All these was only on Saturday, wait till you hear what I bought on Sunday...

Till then... see ya!

Bon Voyage

Yesterday, my friends and I sent our good friend off from the airport. He is going away to the US to study. Actually he's already studying there, its just that he came back awhile for the holidays. So now he's going back there as his school is starting. The saddest part is that he will not come back for another two years or so! Omg... that's very long do you know that!?!?! Plus the fact that I getting one less Ang Bao this year, and the following year! Oh man...lol

But I'm truly gonna miss him. Goodbye, Jason! hehe...

So what's happening this week? Hmm... oh yea, my boss asked me to help her find so movers to move the glass table from the office, to her house. Drags! I'm really starting to feel that I'm not cut out to be doing admin stuffs. I hate it when my boss asked me to call the cleaning lady, asked me to order water cooler's water, asked me to buy stationery, asked me to subscribe to magazines.... I really HATE doing all that. But I have no choice because I'm just a Admin! *Sigh*
Maybe I should just change a job? Hmm... should I? Cos the pay is quite good, and I'm gonna start studying soon, thus the extra income would be useful in the long run. Plus I have bills and insurance to pay. But the job is just...

Another sad thing is that DollHouse is ending soon... Boo! Cant believe there's only 2 more episodes left. Wonder why FOX would wanna X that show... Anyone care to explain? I would have to wait until April for Glee to come back. Luckily, there are a few new shows that are coming out this month, so I'm kinda excited about it! Yipee...

2010

Happy New Year!!!

Its now 2010 and I had a very enjoyable first few days of 2010. New Year's eve was a half day for my work and so I met my friends and have lunch at Burger King, near my working place. We were going to discuss how much each person has to pay for the food and the jerseys that they bought for our friends. 9 of my friends and I were meeting on 1st of Jan 2009 to celebrate our 10 years of friendship! Yea, that's right! We have known each other since secondary school. After the lunch at Burger King, we went to another shopping center where I treated my friends to some desserts. After that, we just went home and that was it. I did not go out and party or countdown to New Year. I just practically stayed home, and watched the countdown celebration. Ya, I know its kinda boring, but I am starting to feel that I too old for these kinda countdown party because I don't really like the loud noise and the over crowded place. Its so hot and squeezy.

1st Jan 2010 was the most memorable and fun day I had for this new year. I'm having a barbecue session at my friend's house to celebrate our 10 years anniversary as friends! Before the barbecue, I met 2 of my friends for some sports, mainly squash, which was the first time that I have tried playing it. It was really fun and I enjoy it very much. You do not have to run very far, like soccer or baseball, because its all within the small room. But I have blisters and cuts after that. Lol, and my body is still aching. This is the sign of not exercising enough. Oh well, after squash, we went for swimming, in the rain. After that, we continued awhile of squash and finally went to shower and get ready for the barbecue!

I cant believe its Sunday now, because it means that tomorrow is Monday, and I will have to go back to work. Going back to work means that I have to submit my report tomorrow, help my boss to subscribe the few magazines and newspapers, do some media research, finish up the coding of some articles, and calling the cleaning auntie.
Life sucks. At least for me it does. And I still have to register myself into a school to get a degree. Wonder if I should continue working there, or get a part-time job. What do you guys think?

Anyway, that's all I have for today, see you!
